2000 Gambling Bill Introductions

As of Friday, March 3, 2000 there have been 17 bills introduced in the
Minnesota House of Representatives and 20 bills introduced in the
Minnesota Senate which are related to gambling. They are (ACM Proposed
Legislation in Bold):
 

Minnesota House of Representatives

HF 2485 (Erickson & Westerberg) - American Indian tribes prohibited
from making political contributions with funds derived from casino
operations.

 HF 2601 (Howes) - Counties with more than one gaming casino provided
modified aid payments.

 HF 2715 (Daggett, Abrams, Sviggum, Pugh, Milbert, Pawlenty, Rest,
Rifenberg, & Marko) - Lawful gambling tax rates reduced.

 HF 2771 (Tomassoni & Solberg) - Video
lottery pilot project authorized and gross  receipts allocated to the
Minnesota environment and natural resources trust fund and the permanent
school fund.

 HF 2977 (Peterson, Davids, Ozment, Holsten, Dorn, Kubly, Kalis, &
Lenczewski) - State parks account and citizens council created, and
lottery ticket in lieu taxes credited to the game and fish fund and
natural resources fund.

 HF 3023 (Broecker, Osskopp, Murphy, Wenzel, & Haake) - Lawful gambling
fraud defined and felony penalties imposed.

 HF 3138 (Holsten, Hackbarth, Osthoff, Ozment, & Abeler) - Lottery
tickets in lieu of sales tax receipts dedicated for natural resources
purposes.

 HF 3219 (Osskopp, Rhodes, Winter, Kahn, & Dehler) - Lawful gambling
provisions modifications.

 HF 3246 (Osskopp, Tomassoni, Holsten, & Milbert) - Card club table
number limitation clarified.

 HF 3302 (Dehler & Finseth) - Lawful gambling purpose definition
expanded to include expenditures for periodic uniform cleaning
reimbursement.

 HF 3344 (Stang) - Volunteer fire departments authorized to conduct
annual raffles and conditions provided.

 HF 3571 (Osskopp, Broecker, & Rhodes) - Dangerous weapon possession at
gambling establishment felony penalty provided, signage required,
detention of suspects provided, shipment of gambling devices regulated,
and definitions and penalties provided for cheating.

HF 3638 (Pugh, Milbert, & Osskopp) - Manufacturer refusal to sell
gambling supplies to a distributor conditions specified.

 HF 3733 (McCollum, Carruthers, Erickson, Mares, & Leighton) - Lawful
